Why Choose A Natural Diamond?

In case you missed it, last week we went over why lab diamonds might be the right choice for you. This time, we'll be talking about center stones that need no introduction.

From De Beers's first successful campaign to all the stunning natural colored diamond celebrity engagement rings we've seen in just the last couple years alone, natural diamonds have reigned supreme in the jewelry world. While the lab diamond industry is now a key player, we don't think these earthly marvels are going anywhere.

Good things take time! The immense beauty of natural diamonds lies in their ability to weave through time and space, emerging on the next side a dazzling piece of earth-made art. Deep in the Earth's mantle, through immense pressure and heat, diamonds have traveled 1 to 3.5 billion years.

It's quite beautiful that diamonds get their color from the presence of other elements, like nitrogen for yellow and brown diamonds, boron for blue, and hydrogen and other elements to create green, pink, and violet tones. What's amazing is that scientists still don't exactly know which elements and defects cause the pink and red hues in the stones.

We know that white diamonds are classic for a reason. Their brilliance and fire truly captivate us. However, here at ASJ, we like to do things a little differently.

Grey Diamond and Salt & Pepper Diamonds

Grey diamonds, also lovingly called salt and pepper diamonds, are incredibly unique. Their mesmerizing inclusions tell the story of Earth's alchemy, allowing us to truly embrace the extraordinary. They're the perfect stones to choose to reflect a unique love and unconventional spirit.

Champagne Diamonds

We love champagne diamonds for their warm, earthy hues due to the presence of nitrogen when the diamond was forming. Their golden hues are captivatingly effervescent, reminiscent of your favorite bubbly. The allure of champagne diamond engagement rings is that they offer a unique and radiant alternative to traditional white diamonds.
