Ring Size & Fit
Finding your ring size
We offer a ring sizer for purchase to help you find out your Anna Sheffield ring size here, in addition to our Size Chart that provides International ring size conversions, and an at-home printable guide for finding your ring size.
We’re also happy to size you in person at our NYC atelier. Book an appointment here.
If you're unable to visit us in-store to get your fingers sized, and would prefer and in-person second opinion, we highly recommend visiting a local jeweler to get sized.
Resizing Policy
We offer a complimentary resize for rings within the first year of purchase, up to one size larger or smaller. Any resize requests outside of the first year will be performed at cost to the client.
Please note that some ring styles are not suitable for resizing, including but not limited to eternity, half eternity, or pavé shank bands and rings. To protect the structural integrity of a piece, in some rare cases, a ring remake may be recommended when exceeding size adjustments above 1.5 sizes up or down.
Eternity and half eternity style bands that cannot be resized and fall within the 14 day exchange window (and do not qualify as final sale) will incur a restocking fee of 10%, not to exceed $500.
Rings purchased during promotional events, Archive Sales, sample sales, or the ASJ Sale Collection do not receive a complimentary resize.
Please send all repair and resize requests to our team at info@annasheffield.com. Include the name on the order and desired work to be completed on your item. Our team will respond in 1-3 business days with instructions on how to ship your item back.
Resizing in-stock rings
In most cases, we are able to resize a ring from our In Stock Engagement Rings or collection of in-stock Bands or Rings up to one size up or one size down.
If purchasing an in-stock engagement ring online, simply select the size in the dropdown you wish to have the ring sized to, and our team will take care of the rest! Please allow approximately 10 business days for your resize to be completed before shipment.
Please note that resized and modified rings are final sale.
If your desired in-stock ring cannot be resized, a custom ring can be made for you to your desired specifications. Contact us to learn more about the Custom & Bespoke process!
Jewelry Care
General Jewelry Care
Your Anna Sheffield jewelry piece is precious beyond its sentimental value, and we are committed to ensuring that, as a client, you are educated in long term care in order to best protect your future heirlooms. This requires thoughtful care and consideration in regards to the times you may not want to wear your pieces and how best to store and maintain them. We recommend that your pieces are cared for and worn in a similar fashion to something of similar delicacy like cashmere sweater or silk dress–if you would not put one of these pieces on for an activity, we recommend considering whether you might wear your fine jewelry at that time as well.
Lifestyle is an important factor when choosing for and caring for your pieces of fine jewelry. We recommend taking off your pieces, and in particular rings with delicate stones and prongs, for the below activities:
1.) Swimming, showering and bathing - Shampoos, conditioners, hard water, and chlorine can weaken your fine jewelry and get lodged under settings and prongs, weakening them over time, along with the potential for prongs and chains to snag on towels while drying off.
2.) Exercising & carrying heavy objects - Carrying weights and other heavy objects can put your stones at high risk for breaking or chipping (yes, even diamonds!) in addition to damage that settings may sustain such as bent shanks and prongs that can loosen center stones.
3.) Cleaning and washing dishes - Cleaning products contain very harsh chemicals that can cause reactions to your metals, which can lead to tarnishing and metal pitting that can degrade the surface and integrity of your piece over time.
4.) Applying cosmetics - In addition to chemicals that might be present in some cosmetic products that can degrade the surface of your jewelry, cosmetics such as perfumes, lotions, hair and skin care products can change the color of diamonds, pearls, opals, and more, as well as degrade the luster of your jewelry.
5.) Cooking - Oils and the like encountered during cooking can require that you clean your pieces more regularly and rigorously.
6.) Sleeping - in some cases, fine jewelry can sustain pressure during sleep, causing pieces like rings and earrings to bend, in addition to the risk of chains or prongs snagging on hair or bedding.
7.) Certain types of work - Our active lifestyles and careers can sometimes be the culprit, particularly of damage to rings, for example, with work that requires frequent use of the hands. Careers that require frequent exposure to chemicals, rough materials like soil and rocks while gardening, or situations that require gloves to be frequently taken on or off can be damaging to fine jewelry’s metals, prongs, and stones over time.
It’s the responsibility of our clients to determine any potential risk factors for damage and consider under which circumstances they choose to wear –or not wear– their jewelry. Anna Sheffield is not responsible for any damages sustained during day-to-day activities that are beyond our control, including but not limited to the list of activities above. Anna Sheffield is not responsible for wear and tear that is to be expected with fine jewelry over time, in particular rings, which with consistent wear creates the most exposure to hard surfaces, chemicals, snags (on textiles or hair) and other degrading materials.
We highly recommend purchasing the JM Care Plan, to cover costs associated when maintaining your Fine Jewelry over time, and additional Insurance, for loss or theft, both through our trusted partner–Jeweler’s Mutual.
The Jeweler’s Mutual Care Plan covers:
Ring re-sizing
Rhodium Plating
Refinishing & Polishing
Loss of stones due to defective setting
Broken, bent or worn prongs
Cracked or thinning band or shank
Broken clasps, bracelets, or chains
Replacing cracked or chipped stones
Broken earring posts
The Jeweler’s Mutual Insurance Plan covers:
Loss
Theft
Damage
Mysterious disappearance
Exclusions and limitations apply for both the Care Plan and Insurance through Jeweler’s Mutual. Coverage and pricing are subject to underwriting review and approval, and to policy terms & conditions. Please contact our team to learn more or begin your Jeweler’s Mutual’s coverage.
Cleaning & Storing your Fine Jewelry
To keep your pieces clean, we offer our Original Jewelry Cleaner, which is perfect for 14k pieces and hard stones such as diamonds, and our Gentle Jewelry Cleaner, which is recommended for precious and semi precious stones.
*Please note we do not advise using this cleaner on our sterling sliver products. For cleaning instructions for those products see answer below.
There are various steps you can take toward proper fine jewelry storage to aid in the longevity of your pieces featuring precious and semi-precious metals and stones:
1.) Avoid putting your jewelry into a drawer, on top of a dresser, or on any hard surfaces that could cause scratches or damage. Storing your jewelry in the ASJ box or pouch that your order is sent in is a safe option.
2.) Store in a dry area like a jewelry box with padded sections.
3.) Keep away from skincare products. It is best not to keep your jewelry in the bathroom to keep jewelry away from heat, steam, and water.
4.) Don't store in a place that reaches direct sunlight during any time of the day. Direct sunlight over time can affect the color of stones.
Wear & Tear
Like a car or any other item you use frequently or on a daily basis, Fine Jewelry will show signs of wear over time and may experience impacts that compromise your setting and stones. Common signs of wear & tear on jewelery include but are not limited to:
1.) Prongs that require tightening over time to secure the stone
2.) Shanks that bend to your finger
3.) Pavè stones that may be loose or have fallen out
4.) Scratches and tarnishing
5.) Stones that have changed color from exposure to chemicals, water, and climate
We highly recommend that our clients regularly check and service their fine jewelry to ensure that the piece is safe enough to wear. We are happy to review and service your Anna Sheffield Fine Jewelry under the circumstances of normal wear and tear, which can include cleanings, prong checks, prong retipping, and other service repairs that are common with owning a piece of Fine Jewelry over time at the lowest possible cost. Ultimate diagnostics are performed by our Production Team, who will determine the recommended next steps and cost.
It’s the responsibility of our clients to determine any potential risk factors for damage and consider under which circumstances they choose to wear –or not wear– their jewelry. Anna Sheffield is not responsible for any damages sustained during day-to-day activities that are beyond our control.
Diamond & Gemstone color & durability
All colored stones (yes, even diamonds!) can be at risk for color changing over time. This can occur from multiple factors:
1.) Contact with chemicals, cosmetics, soaps, oils, etc
2.) High exposure to sunlight or heat.
3.) Climate, humidity, or environmetal factors.
It is the responsibility of our clients to choose which type of diamond, gemstone, cut, and other characterisitcs of their chosen stone fits best with their lifestyle and level of commitment to Fine Jewelry care. For example, while a diamond is considered level 10 on the Moh's Harndess Scale, it is not infallible to breakage. This can be determined by the type of diamond cut (for example, is it a Portrait Cut diamond, or another type of fragile diamond cut?), the setting silhouette, and other factors, paired with the wearer's lifestyle and any accidental damages.
Fine Jewelry Maintenance
Like a car or any other item you use frequently or on a daily basis, Fine Jewelry requires maintenance, service checks, and may require repairs over time. It’s the responsibility of our clients to maintain their own fine jewelry.

Sterling Silver Jewelry Policy & Care
Tarnishing naturally occurs as silver jewelry oxidizes with exposure to environmental chemicals (during both wear and non-wear). Silver can tarnish in reaction to many things from the air - particularly in damp climates or where the air is salty - to surface exposure, both while it's being stored and while it's being worn. Proper storage and regular cleaning can help prevent and minimize tarnishing, maintaining the luster and shine of silver jewelry.
See some tips below for caring for your silver jewelry:
1.) Regularly clean your sterling silver jewelry to prevent tarnishing. Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth to gently polish the silver. There are also specific silver polishing cloths available that are effective in removing tarnish.
2.) Avoid direct exposure to chemicals found in beauty products like lotions, perfumes, and hairsprays which can accelerate tarnishing. If using, it's best to apply these products before putting on your silver jewelry, avoiding surface contact.
3.) Do not use jewelry cleaners on sterling silver pieces.
4.) Store your silver in a dry, anti-tarnish or tarnish-resistant cloth or pouch .
5.) Avoid leaving your silver jewelery in wet, damp places, such as in the shower.
Sterling silver, by definition, contains pure silver and other metals, often copper. While pure silver is generally hypoallergenic, the additional metals in sterling silver can sometimes cause mild reactions in individuals with sensitive skin. However, many people find sterling silver to be well-tolerated and a suitable option for those with minor metal sensitivities. If you have a known allergy to specific metals, please get in touch with questions prior to your purchase as sensitivities vary from person to person. Anna Sheffiels is not responsible for any tarnishing or reactions that may occur after purchase.
We provide a 6 month limited warranty on sterling silver jewelry.
